Despite the pianist's absence at Queen rehearsal, we managed to get a lot done. The band was there for the first hour and we repeated the rockout section near the end maybe 8 times in a row, the chorus headbanging along in support. Man am I glad I picked the people I picked. And then we worked on Freddie-style choral nuances once I let the band go (Andy was taking the MM music history test and Lautaro had to work). And then we went upstairs for the meeting. Which was long and grueling and full of camaraderie as usual.
That was the most nervous I have ever been for a presentation of my musical skills. Which is counterintuitive, because the atmosphere at these Tuesday night planning meetings is extremely casual, supportive, and constructive. But I thought I was going to shake apart trying to play Rain with Simon and Andy, Leah singing backup and Mia, Eden and Matt doing string/singing things. I have to splice a performance recording out of that workshop of it somehow for Ran's class on Thursday.
