Woke late, naturally. Too late. By the time I was done adding tracks to Story In Your Eyes, it was 6:30. I sent it to Joodles and he texted me as follows: "Oh my bord I just had a musicgasm when I heard the song! I seriojusly can't work, I just have to listen and grin." Job well done. I grinned a little, myself, at that. So, mission accomplished, I went to Dan's and did three modules of work and hung a bit. Ella was surprised to see me.
Eventually, Joodles showed and asked to do a few of his own recording revisions. We knocked off a couple guitar modifications and set off outside for an adventure recording a guerilla music video. In the road under the streetlight down the block from my house; various locations in the Rice Stadium Lot; the colonnade from Huma to Fondren; the fountain in front of the Jones school... Our enthusiasm flagged, however, with the ever-latening hour and Joodles' confidence issues (he doesn't know the song well enough to feel good at it out-of-recording-context). So we went home and got all his stuff from my house, and went to his house to pack him up for his drive to Wyoming tomorrow.
He finished just in time to make the obligatory Chapultepec trip with me and Dan, and many giggles were had. The farewell at my door as he and Dan went off to their block after dropping me was less giggly, to say the least. Every time, man. I'm going to miss him like compositional/performance catalyst he is, but also. Because, you know.
