Well, I was going to record the rest of the choir trip, so I kept procrastinating, but I guess the only thing I'd really like to make sure I remember is the clandestine midnight visits by Kevin and Allen to my hotel room (which I shared with Krystel and Angelique, who were asleep, and Rebecca, who was not). They had been waiting at the Other AmeriSuites since I'd called to tell them we'd be back at the hotel, but by the time I called (curfew), they realized they were at the wrong one. So they had me beg the teacher to let me stay downstairs just for five more minutes, but she said they'd have to give the cd they wanted to give me to the front desk, and the chaperones would bring it up to me. Well, they did that, and then started home, but they called my room and turned around, then called about 30 seconds after the chaperone brought the cd up and told me to look down the hall, and there they were! Excitement. I really like them, and Rebecca did too, though she didn't get a lot of homework done.

Allen came the next night, too, though this time before curfew, and almost every girl downstairs at the time was trying to hit on him. It was amusing, but I was kind of in the middle of talking to him.

So! Now that's out of the way and I can update regularly without feeling guilty for not finishing something I said I'd give more on later.

I welded half a table day before yesterday at Granjo's house in David's workshop, and right as I was done, I set the welder down carefully and reached out to turn the piece over so I could get up and go turn the electricity off. Well, I had set the welder down so it was touching the rebar I was sitting on, so it took me about two minutes and a lot of struggling to get loose of the table which still had the grounded clamp on it to close the circuit. 120 V feels kind of like a full-body encounter with one of those vibrating massagers which shake your muscles so hard they don't work anymore so you can't get loose. It couldn't have really hurt me, not enough amps, but it was definitely surprising (I'd do it again if I could pick when; it was kind of neat to be electrocuted), and my calf is still cramped and my thumb is sore when I bend it. But I got half a table done.

Oh, I also have the beginning of a really interesting new head thingy. It's full mail, totally covering, fading from gold in the middle to dark green (I ran out of meduim green, so it'll only continue finishing in June when the Gem Show comes around again), in circular chainmail pattern which is terribly more difficult than straight. I also have 64 rows on the front of the shirt done; it's a perceptible lengthwise rectangle. Yay for metal.
