I am deathly ill, but not as bad as last night. I caught my mom's bug and was barely able to make it to the one mandatory orientation thing that has gone by (a meeting about ensembles). You know, achy joints, headache, extreme exhaustion, congestion, sore throat, the inability to breathe after taking more than ten steps, the lack of will to get up... No wonder she couldn't even sit in th car. It requires lying down in warm blankets (yes, fever and chills go with it too).
But it's been cool hanging out with my new boys. And the CI department is very welcoming (or at least Hankus is). I need to write them a letter about what I want to be doing, because I kind of have an idea and I am rarely successful at explaining it verbally (plus, when he called for questions at the meeting, I was barely in shape to speak two words, let alone ask complicated questions about my career in the department.
Tomorrow is hardcore moving day, when Stepan moves out and I carry all my stuff up the two flights of stairs. I may be recovered enough by then to make that happen without collapsing of exhaustion and dying on the spot.
