We sang Evensong last night in the cathedral, with all the Anglican cathedral traditions and the turning and bowing and chanting of Psalms and everything. It was excellent, though there were flaws. We rehearsed today, and the level of concentration was still not high enough, and tonight's Evensong showed it. It felt like atrain wreck from where those of us who care enough stood, and I wanted to cry. Stephen was visibly annoyed. Carine, the aforementioned Scottish girl whose sidekick I have become, pretty much did.

Jonas, one of the German boys, and I, went to apologize to Stephen for how badly it went. He had cooled off by then, and exhorted us not to carry others' sins upon our shoulders. He even gave me a hug and a little talk when it looked like I was about to cry. Still, rehearsal tonight after Evensong was stressed. I really wish people would care. I think he may have gotten through to them somewhat, though.

However. This afternoon we went down the river through some bridges, sat around on a field and (my peeps, the ones who care) sang. The same things we've been singing between and after rehearsals, so we were decent at them. And then Stephen JOINED US. I don't even. Words. Not.

So it was a less ideal day, but only because of how it wasn't used to its full potential by everyone here. We let Stephen down, and some of us were crushed by it, and some didn't care, and that was even sadder for those of us who do. But Carine, the German boys (Martin and Jonas), Camilo the Colombian, Parker and I are going to sneak off and sing alone together tonight. And care.

So how many are you all? And your little group of peeps is 6 - so KS arrangements work? That's awesome!
Were your Psalms chanted in chords or unison? I could never tell if Lee wrote the chords or if the Episcopalians just do it that way...
I hope you get back to the joy.

There are 45 of us here. Oddlyenough, most of the KS arrangements in the books we have are for more than 6 parts. Psalms actuallyhave a chord progression that gets repeated for each verse, so they're chanted on chords but the chords change.
