Missa Solemnis, by Beethoven. Death to the sopranos. I mean, it really wasn't as hard as Roger made it out to be, but we sat up there for 9 measures in a row on a B-flat, then moving to the relative relief of a G-above-the-staff. What was our dear Ludwig smoking? His singers had better not smoke. And we only got through the 3rd movement, the 18th section out of 31! Dr Hausmann, the director of the HSC, has rated each section on a scale of 1 to 5, 5+ being nearly impossible, 1 being merely grueling. We got to a 4 section. It wasn't really difficult, except physically. I await earnestly our next rehearsal; we only have eight regular Tuesdays left to learn this baby, and then the piano rehearsals with Maestro Graf start. And he wants us to make all the markings outside of rehearsal (he gave us sheets with all the infinitesimal details he doesn't want to spend time on inrehearsal).

So that's my Tuesday evening, 7:00-10:00. Of course, thats after my karate workout, 4:15-6:00. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I have merely my Rice rehearsal, 4:00-5:30, and Thursdays karate is usually shorter. But it doesn't leave a whole lot of time to hop to houses except on Fridays. Saturday ought to be the blessed day of Ailuria; I have nothing to get up and do. Sundays I sing with Roger and his group from 2 to whenever. Anybody have details on JR's plans? Or is he waiting on me?
