Bwahaha. I am home. We have made offers on three houses and may get them all and do the knockdown fixy thing to make money while living in another one. They're all within Swift House distance of campus.
My mom's primary method of making money is to buy a house and make it better. Usually this involves knocking down what's already there; sometimes not. Since there are three under discussion, I'm not sure how many of them are getting which treatment.
Oh, OK. Gut and remodel. I thought you meant teardown, a la the unfortunate Swift House. In any case, Southgate, Southhampton, and Old Braeswood (although that's south of Holcombe and probably too far away) are lovely, as you well know. I hope you end up with something nice.
