We practiced on the train. We made it to the Montgomery station and back. My goal was to find the Palace Hotel and go to the bar in there, as I was told it has an original Parrish that was commissioned for it. And I did! After wandering through the bazillions of exits from that station, we found it, and it was gorgeous. The Pied Piper! And it has marble floors and mosaic floors and stained-glass ceilings and it's very very expensive but it may be the classiest place I've ever eaten. Of course I had to eat there. An entire Asian Pear and Feta tart, and then Assorted Sorbets that may be stronger than anything else I've tried. Yummm. Fancy restaurant. Mark Twain used to go there every day when he lived across the street, and billions of dollars in real estate deals were conducted over their mahogany bar. But mostly I just liked it cause it was gorgeous.
So now I know how to get to the city entirely without car. Millbrae train, Millbrae train. I will probably go tomorrow, too.
