That was absolutely fantastic. Sure, studio was low-energy and I was so congested through the Kaun studio recital that I felt like I'd make noise if I breathed too much (especially humiliating while sitting next to Adam, who is cool), but then I went and ran a really tight rehearsal at Jones. We got through many many things and started the memory work, and though I was exhausted by the end of it and my voice was shot, I think we got a lot done.

And then. Stephan, Catherine, Colin, and a guy in Stephan's Latin Dance class called Cary went to pick up Joodles and we carried the JCS cross to my house from its post in the Brown commons. As if that weren't awesome enough, we got to my house, had a serving of ice cream, and commenced a Latin Dance party; Stephan, Cary and I taught Catherine and Joodles, and Colin picked some up, too, and we killed a whole Santana album twice through learning the salsa and the cha-cha. Needless to say, Joodles picked it up almost instantly, and is very, very good at it. Especially hips.

So I'm exhausted. We wound down with a Black Books episode, and now I plan to sleep the sleep of the congested dead until it's time to get up for opera chorus rehearsal downtown tomorrow morning. Yippee.

thanks for coming even though you were congested! haha. I always like to see you there when I'm performing; you're a nice and comforting presence (and not an intimidating one, which is how I felt about Michael Webster standing in the back).

(Even though I know Michael Webster only means well, of course. It's just that he's a professor I don't really know and I inevitably failed to do almost all the things he told me to do when we had a coaching.)
