Sweeney Todd at the Arclight, tonight. It was quite impressive, for being rearranged into a 2-hour movie from a structurally coherent 3-hour musical. And with film actors the exact ages of their characters. There's no avoiding disappointment, if you're a Sondheim fanatic and a low-register fanatic and a fanatic about vocal harmony, but you can still be impressed. Also, we went with Betsy and her husband and their son, who are all awesome. I hope to be introduced to the rest of the extent of the awesome in that family tomorrow.
