Heh. Two late night parties in a row, could hardly be more different. Dan's birthday (Christmas fetish themed, which was odd) was full of loud. And some annoying people, and some people I like, who mostly spent time in Dan's room with me where I had retreated. Trevor and Parker even stopped by to adore me and Stephanie (she was showing me some music from Parade on youtube). They had to go, though they expressed much love as they always sweetly do. There ended up being a Big Socialist Peace and Love party on the bed, and Keith, Stephan, Stephanie (Mary), Catherine, Adam, Katie and I all fit at various times and in various permutations/contortions. Stephan made a fool of himself trying to get Keith to like him, and Adam was so drunk he made a fool of himself in all kinds of ways (some of which got Stephan's hopes up), and eventually Katie passed out. I drove Stephan home, and he was despondent, but I'd just pulled two all-nighters in a row and then slept an afternoon, so I wasn't very down. I went to sleep anyway.
This evening, after my Christmas pops concert (which I ought to have skipped for the SpoCo show), I joined Stephan and a small JCS reunion; Joodles, Denver, Catherine, Colin, Stephan and I went to get ice cream and then descended on my house, playing all the instruments in my favorite way (Joodles was impressed by all the guitars and the bass, and he's no slouch at playing any of them; I'm hoping to convince him to play for Hair if he won't act in it). We drank egg nog, played each other music, and watched three episodes of Black Books, over which we bonded even closer than I would have expected, because Dylan Moran... well, just is. I went back in the car to drop them all off, and once they'd all gone I lay down in the back seat and watched the sky and oaks and lights go by out the wide windows, and it reminded me of a lot of times when I was little and it was very shifty.
Looking forward to auditions tomorrow, of all kinds. Concert, not so much. But, you know.
