I am technically done with classes, though I still have papers and finals (more than ever before). However, I think I have hit the critical mass of stress and work upon which I cease to worry, as everything just keeps coming, and it will be over someday when I finish it all. My Medieval Empires test this morning was probably a bomb (I wrote a metric ton, but I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything), but it's over and therefore I do not care. I must care about the paper I have to write for that class (which will be easy to care about, as it will be a travel journal from the perspective of a medieval minstrel), and the other papers. Socioling, for which I am writing about how all rock singers have Southern accents (or do they? is it just an effect of agogic stress?), will be fun when I get around to it, but it's not due till the 19th. Discourse, for which I must prepare a 10-minute presentation by Monday, will be a little more difficult, as I have no idea what I'm really writing about yet (I have a text file full of corpus hits for the word "way" and no idea where to go with it). Archi final will be hard, Words In English final not so hard, Latin Dance and Opera Workshop and voice performances all over with already (the Saint-Saens and Vaughan Williams went well last night, especially Sam's solos, which were many, because he is a baritone god).
Dan went skydiving this morning for his birthday. I had a test, or I would have gone with him. I hope he doesn't die. I made him cookies.
I have yet to give everyone JCS shirts. Stephan finally got his last night. I took several to Chorale and gave them to the JCS choristers, but the really important people on the production crew still are shirtless. I think we'll kidnap Joodles and give him his, tonight. I'll see if I can find anyone else around.
So, less stress, because now I'm just tying up ends, and I'm good at writing papers overnight (not necessarily well, but I think these ones will be good because I find them interesting). The end is in sight, and there will be much relaxation and rejoicing in LA. And then I should figure out what I'm taking next semester.
