Last night, near the full swing of the party, mama called and informed me she'd bought Corteo tickets for today at 4. So, there went another hopefully productive day, but, instead of being productive, I'm uplifted. I've never seen a Cirque show that didn't have that effect on me. After watching the extremes of the abilities of physical humanity explored onstage with lights and music, I find that the world seems more likely to hold secrets of exceptional beauty or inexpressible quality beneath its mundane surface. Entering the tent, being shown into another world, and realizing it was here the whole time and those are people like the ones I know, I'm speechless with the potential of the world.
On the ride back home, I left the window open on the freeway to fly my hand on the wind and let it strike my senses. There's too much out there to ever be bored.
