I'm not sure whether this is good or bad, but the teacher didn't seem to mind... my ten-minute Phonology presentation lasted for half an hour. They laughed at the things I thought were funny, so I guess it was a success. Mine was the first one out of the whole class, so I had nothing to go on, but it seemed to go well. And this after Ben's successful presentation on Tristan in VeeDub.
I bullied Dan into driving us to Jimmy Wok for lunch, since I hadn't really eaten anything for a day and a half. We were back in time for Tonal Counterpoint, which was fun, and then Rep had RUSSIANS and LATIN AMERICANS AHHH so that was lovely. Practically my whole recital is on the listening list. Heh.
And then, nothing! Dan took me to Walgreens for gel, since Laura, who is so graciously doing my hair for the opera, had a go with every gel we could find backstage; the boys' hair is apparently not as fat as mine, so I need a gel that goes to eleven. Oh, how I hate makeup and hair.
Anyway, I went home to spend time with all the people who live there, and finally forced Gail to watch Street Scene with me, and Andrew came over in time to see the magically superb production too. I have a feeling he was more into it than she was, but she didn't look like she was suffering, so I'm not sorry :)
A couple hours of sleep at Stephan's, and when I got here Carl had delegated all the sports articles to his minions and the board was completely finaled. No sports for me! I've got two news articles done so far, and there are only two more on the board, so here's to a short night before an opening night! *toasts amazingly undercooked cookie that is mostly dough... mmm*
