Doing phonology homework for a a presentation the next day while trying to pay attention to where we are in the las dress rehearsal for Street Scene--recipe for disaster in the shoulders. However, it's kind of fun. In a really stressful way. I've gone at least half psychotic. I can deal, though. Except with the makeup. It's driving me a different, less functional kind of psycho.

Phonology! Dress rehearsal! Makeup!

Earlier this afternoon was nice. I had a whole two hours to myself today. I slept through my 9:25 because I couldn't stand the thought of falling asleep in front of a linguistics teacher I really respect, and that's what would have happened. So I just went to chemistry with Stephan, which taught me how to do the homework that had been frustrating us the night before, and then back-to-back lessons with Susanne 12:30-2:30, Latin till 4 (I couldn't translate the verbs at sight, but I scanned like a scansion demon), and then two whole hours to do Phonology and help Bryan put his harp in his car for his gig, until dress started at 6. And I tell you, I would much rather be here than HSC rehearsals, where I'm sure people still can't sight-read Wagner. Mama emailed them to tell them I wasn't coming, so I'm covered.

(Chord outside onstage melts my life!) Dress rehearsal! Phonology!

I guess I should start doing work again. It has to be a ten-minute presentation, and I suck at talking, so I'm just going to outline all the phonologically interesting features of Quechua (the language of the Incas, particularly the Huallaga (Huanaco) dialect) and put them on a handout and then just cite examples in the language for ten minutes.

Shoulders! Phonology!
