I was misled! The VW response papers were due this morning! It's okay, class was fun anyway, and Bryan hogged the blame for telling us all it was due Friday. I wrote it between Rep and Chorale, and emailed it to her. Rep is almost engaging, these days, what with all the eastern European composers we're going through. Chorale was certainly fun, and several people asked me where Lazy Afternoon comes from (an obscure little musical called The Golden Apple). It's fun to hear all the random people sing their solos, especially the nonmajors, whom I never hear otherwise. Damn, Stephen Nelson; fine set of pipes, there.
Katina's recital was lovely and elegant and composed; when my recital comes along I should hope to be as serene and grounded as she looked and sounded. I had to scram straight downtown from there, though, for the Brahms orchestra rehearsal in which, to my utter astonishment, the chorus was on the beat and the orchestra was behind. Imagine that!
I got home and checked languagelog to find this, which is cool, and then hopped off to work, where I've finished one of two sports articles Carl had left over when I got here, and he's doing the other one, because he is a sweet and charming colleague who enjoys relieving me of the onus of sports editing. So I've got a practically sports-free night ahead of me, with mountains of pizza and cookies, free time between intermittent articles, and a computer with headphones. I love my job.
