Rehearsal call was entirely construction for me tonight. I don't mind in the least, because I love the tech guys, but I could have used a shower before coming to work. There's sawdust all over me from sliding under platforms to drill screws up into other platforms (yay drills), there's grease from the screw-down feet of the lifting machine (whose name I can't remember at the moment) on my hands, as well as several scratches that look much worse than they are. But I'll shower later.

I've got two sports articles down already, which seems like it ought to be enough for now. I need to do my linguistics homework. I really could have walked to Shepherd to get my bike and gone home on it and got a shower and my computer, but I decided the amount of circles that would accomplish was excessive.

So now I must save documents on this computer to submit on Owlspace. That will be different. I would have liked to start my history paper or study for the test that will be (much less doomful than Barnett tests) next week, but I have no books. Instead, I will begin my NaNo . It's a day late to start, but I can get 4000 words down in a night like this. Even if I have to leave work early so I can go home and shower before we get on the bus.

That's right, you Internets! No break between Wedday, Nesday, and Thursday this week. None whatsoever. The Chorale trip to San Antonio to sing for Dale Warland at the ACDA convention is tomorrow, leaving at 5:40am. Which is cool, but, you know, I'll have to sleep on the three-hour bus ride. And then I'll be singing for a choral conducting legend on three hours of sleep. I think this is a first; I've never actually had a day (two days) this busy before.

Okay, then. Homework before NaNo.

1. I didn't sleep at all tonight. Ergo, today will be interesting/fun.
2. The lifting machine is colloquially referred to as "the lift" by those of us who are well acquainted with it.
3. I have unidentified white powdery stuff on my sweatshirt.

Yep. I think we've got about the same score on the insomniometer.

They were calling it something dreadfully jargonical tonight that my addled brain could not contain, nor the other techie terms for things like the big hangy cloth at the back of the stage and the struts on the scaffolding.

It is probably not sawdust, if you were not set-uping tonight.

Also, the lift is called a genie. The big hangy cloth is the psych (that's how I spell it, but there's probably a correct spelling). The struts are...struts. No clue.

Good luck at the concert.

Yay. I think I will do NaNo this year too, though not having my computer is making it quite evil. I have started a 'self-dystopia novela'/antibildungsroman; nothing too ambitious for a first go. I'll probably lose this time ... but that is not stopping me.
