Halloween is my favorite holiday in its own right (as Christmas is my favorite holiday because of its coincidence with a family reuinion). The elements of Misrule, the emphasis on the occult, the excuse to wear unusual clothes, the candy, the sense of the harvest season and abundance.
I've been shifty all day, waking up (around 10, which I guess is late to Bryan) to get to class to find Bryan dressed as a badass with tattoos and a firey shirt and a badass jacket and bugout eye glasses, and Ben dressed perfectly as Bryan, with the plaid flannel shirt over a t-shirt, birkenstocks, black-frame nerd glasses, frumpy jeans, and a cigarette behind the ear (login to Facebook and this is Bryan, and this is Ben). The amusement lasted me all the way through lunch with Stephan at Whole Foods.
I'm considering taking the Ailurian saga as a Nanowrimo project. This would require a large amount of organization and planning, since I have only he vaguest idea what the plot is. Any suggestions?
I think I have no opera workshop this afternoon, but I'm not sure. HSC orchestra rehearsal runs over ItW rehearsal a bit, but not much, so I can get there on time, I bet. And when I'm done, I will do another Dionysian ceremony and meditate on the subject of Ailuria. No trick-or-treating for me tonight, since my like-minded friends no longer live here, and I have much to do anyway (I could very, very easily throw a costume together, but that will probably be for my own pleasure rather than at school or rehearsal).
