Ah, the wonders of set/costume construction. I managed to involve myself in all three options for working today. I put together the shawl for my character, which is much omre complicated than one would expect, since it's basket-woven strips of haphazard cotton print. I cut a billion 34-inch lengths of scrim cloth for the "leaves" of the backdrop (they're going to be geometrical, and it's oging to look very cool). I marked, lined, and cut a multitude of foamcore strips and glued them together to make frames for the scrims. Last but not least, I went home and got some jeans and shoes so I could play with the power tools in the shop and drill platforms together (no one called me a badass with a drill this time, but I will always cherish that memory of Sean). The shop guys (Chris Warrington, which was unexpected, since he's about five feet tall and delicate as a poison dart frog, a couple freshmen I didn't know, and Guy) were fun to hang out with, and we talked about a range of things from Linguistics to Sci-fi/fantasy we've read.

I've got that satisfying bone-weary day-of-menial-labor feeling, and Antonio's coming to swap massages, so it's all good.

for the record: i would have called you a badass with a drill and felt supremely inadequate but completely charmed and smitten if i had been helping out this time.

that is all.
