The good times just never seem to stop rolling. After the pleasantly suprising success of last night's Chorale concert, Stephan and I met up with Guy and Katie and Adam and Trevor, and my arm was slightly twisted in order to go to the Spontaneous Combustion show in the Lovett undergrounds. That was a pleasant surprise, too; they were much better than I expected. In fact, they weren't bad at all. It was pretty funny. Now we all want to know the name of the boy to whom we shall henceforth refer as "tree."
A germ of a plan to go to House of Pies twisted into a plot to buy tres leches cake and eat it at Stephan's house; he and Katie walked to the Shepherd lot to his car, while Guy and I walked to my house so I could get my computer in case there was any desire to catch up on Studio 60. We ended up mostly talking instead, Ben and Bryan and Katie and Stephan and Guy and I, and then Katie left and Ben and Bryan retreated to their respective rooms and Stephan and I began Guy's indoctrination into the rabid fandom of Aaron Sorkin (he was already a 1st-4th-season West Wing fan, so it wasn't hard).
It's amazing how long one can stay up and talk, even sometimes about a very entertaining nothing, with the right company. Guy looks to be evolving into a third Stephan/Dan-style friend of mine, about which I am terribly pleased. The three of us ended up crashing on the floor of Stephan's living room under a comforter I pilfered from his bed, the heat of which (Guy is a furnace) did wonders for my back.
We woke up late, talked some more (Bryan had been up for hours with coffee and real breakfast) and had Starbucks this morning before setting off home, and now I have a Hamman Hall sewing machine training session at 2 before I go to U of H's production of Street Scene this evening with Andrew.
Hopefully somewhere along there I'll do some of the multitudes of work that I need to do this weekend, but for some reason it's not stressing me out.
