Last night Nick came over to Stephan's, and we tried to watch a movie. I was positive I had Farinelli at my house, which would appeal to everyone's taste, but after half an hour of searching mama convinced me we didn't. So Bryan and I (he'd driven me) made some tentative decisions and took a small pile of movies back to choose from. That kind of fizzled. I felt terrible. In many ways. I'm not sure what brought it on, since I'm not ill and it's not PMS, but there it was.

Stephan took me to the Menil collection this afternoon, after I slept in terribly late. Though I suppose I had reason. I won't go into that now, though. Anyway; nine years of life in Houston, and I'd never been to the Menil, so there's that done. I love the ancient stuff. The rest of it is only interesting if I'm in a certain mood. I really need to draw some stylizedly ancient stuff now, Egyptian, Greek, Indian, American, African, Assyrian... I showed Stephan the two illustrations I've got from the Story of Horus and Seth, and he thought they were hilarious, since I had just shown him the myth.

We watched a couple classic West Wing eps, with Bryan's intermittent presence, and then came by my house to get my computer and ended up dragging another armload of movies back, and Bryan recommended the Wonder Boys. We were in the middle of that when hunger overcame Stephan, so we came back to my house and made a salad (I burned the bacon the first time around, to my great chagrin, and Bryan made the second batch, also to my great chagrin, but hey, I boiled the eggs), which was good. I've been a bit distracted, though.

I think, as soon as Stephan's relative (not sure which kind) lets him off the phone, we're going back to his house to finish the movie.
