After seeing the second bit of Gould madness and eating all Bryan's cheese at Stephan's, I submitted to the will of Fate and went up in my attic to see what was causing the stalactite in my bathroom (it's progressed to peeling big sheets of paint off the ceiling). Attic-crawling is thirsty, hot, and itchy work. The logistics have changed since last I was there; I think David improved the efficiency of the air conditioning by 300% or something and made it impossible to get behind the water heater. Naturally, that's where the edge of the water heater isn't covered by the pan, and it's dripping rather severely all the way around the edge. So I made a nice little gutter/canal out of foil and directed the wayward water back into the pan, which drains into a pipe assumed to be intact.

I am going to bed, but I wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't wake up and have to take the Historical Linguistics midterm right before an Aural Skills quiz.
