Stephan took us to Hugo's, with the intention of having a leisurely and expensive fancy meal before the fancy chamber concert. It was definitely fancy, and I've rarely had such high-quality food (it's not a priority for me). However, the two hours we allowed ourselves between the 6:00 reservation and the 8:00 concert turned out to be just barely enough, due to the high quality of the restaurant with correspondingly languid service. We did make it to the concert, though, with time to spare for hysterical laughter and merciless mocking of the program notes. Afternoon of a Faun, a Hindemith Kammermusik, and Schubert 5 make a strange combination, and I could certainly have left before intermission if not for the boys; there are few occasions in my life upon which I've been more bored than I was during that Schubert.
Lauren called Stephan in the car on the way home, and proceeded to talk to him for an hour and a half; just as well, since I spent the afternoon with the new Stargate season and not my Linguistic Analysis report on Quechua. I got it done and turned in right before he came upstairs. That was a relief. But I am now sleepy, so I'll do the rest of my piles of Ling homework tomorrow. Bryan virtuously convinced me to retreat to sleep at a reasonable hour last night, so I'm not sure why I'm so beat, but I definitely don't want to do work.
