It's funny how fast you can adjust to a schedule (or lack thereof) that's a complete contrast to the one you've held for months and months. Even if it's one you've had before, that you're readjusting to. Last night I took Ben his birthday cookies, and ended up hanging out with him and Bryan, both at their new apartment and at my house, for several hours. Ben's former roommates Dan (not my Dan, the non-musi Dan) and Chris, and Mollie the harpist, showed up at the apartment with liquor to celebrate Ben's birthday, and after they were all fairly drunk I had to go finish some stuff at the Thresher. They elected to walk with me to the office, and then spent what seemed like hours talking to the denizens of the Wednesday-night shift before wandering away. It was fun, but I don't want to get in trouble for bringing distractions and consumers of pizza and setting them loose in the office.
Anyway, I stayed up too late finishing things, and then got up at 9 to spend the day at Susan's, but I don't regret the headache and fatigue of today, because it was a Stargate marathon and then a House marathon and nothing can ruin that experience, and it was fun last night anyway. Ye gods, I'm glad school is starting again soon.
I'm currently at Stephan's apartment, waiting for him to arrive (momentarily, since his flight got in awhile ago), having brought his car over straight from Susan's. Ben and Bryan cleaned the place up and got some furniture in here, so it looks pretty good, and all the subletters' trash seems to be ousted. :D
I love real friends. You know, people you don't actually have to talk to, when you're zonking out waiting for things to happen, people who don't require smalltalk or the extraneous politeness of lesser acqaintances. You don't have to ask for help, and you don't feel obligated to offer it, cause they know they don't have to ask, either... Yeah.
