We finished the aran at Nia's yesterday (all but the dangly front thing, which I forgot to bring), and made bony progress on Dead Fred (he's so cool!), and managed to press onward with all our obsessions but one. And he won't be neglected for long Ha. Progress.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I hate it when I do this. I put my Drop/Add registration PIN in a really really safe place every year at the beginning of the summer, so when I check my schedule and registration status at the end of summer and find the inevitable mistake or unsuspected conflict, I can find every PIN but the current one. Argh. I hope to find it this time before I have to ask for another one, because that's just stupid. I've checked every safe surface I can think of, so maybe it fell in a drawer somewhere.
But anyway, I have to switch out of one Ling class and into another because I didn't realize the first conflicted with vocal rep. It'd be good, anyway, because the one I want to switch to is taught by Michel Achard, who is my hero of linguistics pedagogy; a very, very enthusiastic Frenchman with a long string of degrees and an unusual amount of respect for each student as an individual. The other class I've had with him was Language, Thought and Mind, and it was such a blast that I'd take some things I wouldn't normally consider to have his class again. Luckily, the one I'm shooting for is Intro to Semantics, which I need anyway. I've been taking all these random grad-level classes without any of the usual prerequisites, and I bet I'd be better off with the fundamentals.
I need to get some books out of the library and call Ben. He's back by now, I think, and I want to find some good songs, so I'll have motivation to practice this semester.
ETA 1:25: Oops, he's not back till Wednesday, and that's his birthday, so I'll look through this stuff myself for now. Haha, the complete songs of Louis Moreau Gottschalk! I had no idea he wrote songs, and I've loved his piano stuff since I was tiny. This should be fun.
