Mama's willing to let us use the van if she comes too. She has friends in LA, so we wouldn't necessarily be with her much once we're there, she'd be another person to share the driving, and she knows what's on the way to see and she's better at parking than any of us. Carlsbad Caverns are an option I hadn't thought to consider.

Carlsbad: the one place I've already been (and would positively love to visit again - it was on the route Reggie and I had planned initially). It would be good if your mom came with us, if she is actually optimistic about the idea of course, because it would put my parents at some ease and give us someone who knows better what is going on in the car direction-wise.

She's asleep, but I'll ask her tomorrow. Though I'm hurt you don't think I know well what's going on in the car direction-wise. It's a straight line from here to LA, and the way back we'd have a map; I've done a heap big lot of navigation in my young life, most of it for my mother while she drove. Carlsbad, yes. Last time I went, I was small enough that all I remember from it now is when they turned the lights off you couldn't even see the girl in the white sweater.

Don't be hurt. I have come to assume that all of my friends are so hopelessly dyslexic that maps and directions are hopeless.

Can you imagine that I would be? I suppose irony doesn't necessarily carry over le intarweb.

No, I couldn't really… I have no idea why I was worried. It was late I guess.

Ahh, but now I'm panicking. Reggie says he's broke and won't borrow money! How do we convince him to find/take money?!

From: [identity profile] sanura.livejournal.com

What would he need to pay for? Gas? That's hardly an issue if there are four of us in the car. We have a place to stay, and Stephan's parents can hardly be dissuaded from paying for food... It's not borrowing if we just pay for it in the first place. If he is really that concerned, he can consider it a very late birthday present, since he doesn't seem to want to come by and get his other one. I knew he'd find some other excuse not to go if we solved the car problem, but I've got this one down.
