Oh, dear.

My poor computer will never be the same. It would not behave after the data finished copying over, so I tried deleting some of it, and then it froze. Now it will not startup past a screen in which Terminal code of a fairly terrifying and yet amusing nature (panic:We are hanging here) is superimposed over a set of six or seven different languages telling me I need to restart my computer (in which case the same thing happens). I am taking it to the Apple store for help, but I also need to go to the chiropractor. I washed Prince this morning, and my back is quite unhappy about it.

That message in the multiple languages was just a kernel panic. Usually a restart'll fix her right up.

Have you tried running the diagnostics from the CD that came with your Mac? put in the CD, hold down C as it starts up. Run the hardware check, and see if it's all good.

....And this has been the random Mac-help related post for a LJ entry found through the HSPVA page for the day.

Obviously, it was a kernel panic. However, it panicked every time I restarted. Therefore, it had no OS. Therefore, I took it to the store and they gave me another one. It's fine now. Thanks, though.
