That was a surprising amount of fun for a Thursday night. Ling was giddy in a way that is uncharacteristic of Ling, and then I went straight to Susan's and we spent the afternoon deep in Greenland on a noble campaign (the highest principle of which was not to die). Then, somehow, my three closest friends, who don't really know each other, ended up going with me to see a show containing two of my favorite people. Diego had created expectations so low that I was stunned by the charm of the production. There were really bad things, it's true, but they didn't really take away from the really amazing things (namely, Diego, Nicki (a former voice major), and Tom Conroy, who is a Marvelous and Godlike Being). And watching this show with the stereo commentary of Dan to my left and Stephan to my right beyond Susan, to whom I could make my own commentary, was an experience I couldn't have imagined would turn out so well.

So necessarily we had to sing Bat Boy songs in ridiculous and random keys all the way back to my house (we walked from Wiess), and then have opinionated and cruel discussions of nearly the entire vocal department while listening to the Liebeslieder recording. Dan and I eventually got around to drilling definitions for the not-so-Doomful History test, and then I drove him back to Sid (I didn't hit anything, and nothing hit me, and I even got out of the driveway without falling off the curb).

Studio tomorrow; I don't know what I"m singing. Hm. But after that is more history studying, and then to see another of the five shows which open this weekend. Closer is supposed to be pretty controversial, but after Equus last year and Bat Boy this year I think I'll be able to cope.
