This is much closer to the way it's supposed to be. The clan draped about the house, arguing and discussing and playing games.b Only 16 people were here for Christmas Dinner, but it was different today because more of the old crowd are coming tomorrow; Grant, for one, the Glasers with the new babies, Allen... It will be good.
Jill, my pro-masseuse aunt, is giving real massages for Christmas. I just had mine. It hurt, but I feel so much better now... Apparently I have horrible crackly knots in my shoulders and left hip, very bad for my age, and I should get weekly massages. Probably the scoliosis doesn't help. I believe her. Andy said as I came down the stairs that I was standing up straighter and looked like I had been poured into my clothes. I feel that way.
Cards soon, probably. I have been decomissioned from pie this Christmas, but I will be so glad to see the people tomorrow. Though I will much miss Seth; he's Christmasing with his girlfriend's family. Still, there will be much happiness, as tomorrow is the traditional Christmas dinner and the newly arrived will open their presents. It's odd this year, as I am the youngest kid. Gail's aren't here, Charlotte's not here, Seth's not here, so I was a default elf this morning. Uncles helped anyway. But it's weird. Things change. Marissa and Heather are pregnant. Kevin and Paul have kids. Ah, well. I like some of the in-laws better than some of the blood. It's all good. The pile under the tree was ridiculous, as the family grows.
