Okay. Having copied nearly the entire piano conductor's score of Bat Boy and run through the whole sountrack while following it, I can safely declare this show is going to be emotionally exhausting. Probably other kinds of exhausting, too, but SO COOL. Hopefully I didn't scare Sean gushing at him this afternoon when he dropped by to pick up the score. But I am so excited. For one thing, more feeding the theater addiction. For another, this show is GOOD. If we pull it off, we are going to rule the world. I can see why no one has done it in college theater here, though, because it's relatively complex. The plot and the music, both. These people knew what they were doing when they wrote it.
Also, I hereby declare that I love Deven May (original Bat Boy and the one on the soundtrack with the breathtaking connection to his role). I didn't get to see him when the show was running in New York, but maybe someday I'll shake his hand ;> and fangirl all over him.
