This caught my eye the first time I read it, and once again I find myself in complete sympathy with the protagonist. It's from the shoebox project, and I am glad someone could articulate the feeling properly.
"It won't work. It never works to just sit there and hate it. He knows this. Sometimes he feels like an idiot for knowing this, feels pretentious and wanky and over-mature and wishes he could just kick things and rage and yell and be a proper teenager; but he can't, because it just doesn't work."
