Today was also nice. I am still rigid with enthusiasm. I have a copper ring with a tiny silver seam, with writing (on the INSIDE! Innnfluencessss... my precioussss...) that says in Catian, iladi radiel Kiranle'arai. Ee! And a copper bracelet/cuff thingy, with a silver inscription that says Munrarae n'Ailuria. Aah! And a bunch of really cool cloth! The element thingies turned out really well, although I mistook Water for Earth and had to frantically adjust the color of the dye... hopefully it will be ok. The purple snakeskin she forgot in her dryer is wonderful. The blue snakeskin I stayed up till 1:30 last night washing is also wonderful. As is the big blue chevrons. They will be green and purple, respectively, when they are done dyeing this time (tomorrow). And the (formerly white) blouse is now snakeskin purple and white. Ii! The colors of the dye going down the drain in a white sink must be beheld to be believed. As must the colors of my hands/fingers/elbows. One finger is particularly purple because the ring wasn't big enough the first try and I spent ten minutes in the sink with soap yanking it off my ever-more-bloated finger. The rest are mostly dead-looking shades of blue and green. But the ring fits now! Ring enlargers are cool.
We used up all the dye so we were done early (I started four new handkerchiefs with all that was left, it's kind of a grayish blue/green). I wandered over to where Simon and David and the wood-turning guy were making a mess in his studio. Simon was trying out the lathe thingy. He's fun to watch. There's a sign in his studio that says Please Do Not Feed the Artists (especially the one with the S on his shirt). He must have an unlimited supply of Superman shirts (of various colors), because all four days I've seen him, he's been wearing one. This last one was in grayscale. Huh.
I return on Tuesday to collect my glass stuff, and it'll be a few more weeks before I can get my zakat, because it has to dry under a bag for a week and then in the air for a longer time and then be bisque-fired. But it'll be done, eventually. Meanwhile, I can play with my ring! Ahh! It's so cool! Oh, and Nia, your wall hanging's done.
