Wow. Bryan's house is living the college high life. I went to go knock his door down for the Monteverdi DVD I needed this afternoon, but he wasn't there and it was with him, so his housemates gave me another one instead. I watched it (three hours), and promptly walked back over to give it back and see if he was there yet, and ended up staying for dinner. Like I said, the high life. They cooked a fancy onion soup (I couldn't handle the wine in it), a beef and swiss-cheese on some kind of fancy-toast sandwich, and potatoes. Oh, and there was this plate of tomatoes with basil on it, but nobody ate them. Anyway, they live on the first story of a fairly nice house on Wroxton Ct, and they've got it good.
So now I have the DVD I wanted, though Bryan had left it at Shepherd and had to drive me there to get it and then drop me here. So I will watch it and think about theses to write for my Monteverdi paper (outline due Monday).
Oh, rehearsal this morning/afternoon was interesting. The ballet thing is getting better, and the gingerbread kids are more consistent now. Second half of rehearsal was figuring out makeup. The angels are pretty spectacularly made up Cirque-style, and the gingerbread kids are like dead dolls with Xs over their eyes and flyaway wigs. So it's all over-the-top, which makes it easy. Though I had no idea you had to make a cake out of your face before you even started putting colors on it. Shows what I know about stage makeup. I had to take a shower when I got home, there was so much. Ech.
Anyway, back to L'Incoronazione di Poppea. And the paper. And then German homework. Agh. I'd rather sleep.
ETA: Whoa! He should have warned me that this production has scenes one could justly refer to as softcore porn.
