Glass and ceramics yesterday... Glass splinters are not fun, especially in your thumb. But my round thing will be pretty. Simon was sick, so I ceramed with David instead. He played classic rock cds, and was surprised that I liked them (they're all I can stand to listen to besides classical). He was kind of impressed with my (small) knowledge of the bands and current classic-rock events (Yes has a concert in a couple weeks, and so does Rush). He also seemed inpressed by my clay thingy... I like him, even if he does smell kinda like smoke. He's good at clay, and helped me a bunc and taught me the best way to do the bottom of the thingy. I'm making a... well, you have to have the vocab first:

Zakat (noun): very large ceremonial goblet, chalice, usually with a blessing written around the rim and a draconic figure supporting the cup.

It's gonna be big. And cool. David kicked the wheel for me and did the first few turns, but the cup was really hard to "throw" (that's the term for making stuff on a wheel). It's gonna be really cool, though. The dragon's lookin' good. I'm excited.

Symphony was yesterday, too, and felt really good to sing the Berlioz Requiem (which is not the one I showed Ally, it's different, although Roger says the Verdi is disgustingly derivative of it... It is rather similar, but I like it). We went out with the people after, and then took Corita home and stayed there talking till 1:30 or so, which I why I didn't update last night.

This morning was metalworking, and the bracelet is being really cool. I stamped out my Name in big letters, with "of Ailuria" in little letters underneath it. All accomplished in Catian characters the E at the end of my name is a little misshapen, but I'm satisfied. Cause y'know what we did next? Silver! She stuck silver solder in all the little depressions (if you ever have the chance to watch somebody solder, do so, because it's extremely interesting, especially if you like fire). So now, instead of dents that say words, they're silver lines! In copper! My metal! And on Friday we'll bend them to be bracelet-shaped, and maybe do a ring in copper!

This afternoon was dyeing. The Four Elements cloths didn't come out how I expected, but I adapted, and put them in another layer. She forgot my big piece in her drying machine, but I'll see it next time. It only needs two layers anyway, she says. I made three new ones today, too; brought two really big ziploc bags so I could do two 2-yard pieces of cloth (one drapey, one snakeskin), and the floofish Rennaisancy blouse will be purply-blue. With chevrons, hopefully. David came by and observed, said hi. Interesting. He and Simon (who is better today) were pounding and laughing and talking and claying in Simon's studio. Maybe I'll work with Simon tomorrow.

Next, I have a major excitement. Somehow, do not ask me the methods, my mom acquired a pair of box-seat tickets for The Lion King. It's tonight. At 8:00. I'm almost shivering with anticipation. AAaah!

Oh yeah, Sunday I don't think I have anything besides Roger, but that's from 2-evening. I suppose you could come and listen, which if it was me I'd enjoy because I like the music and the people, but I don't know how bored you'd get. Or even if you can. But from the wee hours of the morning till 2:00 in the afternoon, I don't think much is up. And the wee hours of the morning would be fun... I think the moon is prettiest then. Did you know the next total lunar eclipse is next May 15th (or 19th, I can't remember, I just know it's two days away from Ally's Earth-entering anniversary)? I think it'd be cool to have a gathering and play and arrange candles in cool shapes under the blackout... Especially with the significance it has to Ally. But I dunno if she wants to be alone again, or what. Moon!
