Argh.
Ah yes...almost 19 are we?
The worst day (of many more to come) of your life is
the day that you recognize AND accept that you can't
do everything and (even worse) that there are some
people who are better than you on one or more
topics/subjects, especially on subjects on which you
formerly have reigned supreme...it is a common and
unfortunate side-effect of your freshman/sophomore
year of college. All I can say is, "You are not
alone!"
Now that I'm old, bitter and indifferent, that kind of
stuff doesn't bother me...I'm just happy to have met
someone who is marginally intelligent. When you're in
college, you're surrounded by people like that, but in
the real world, the avg. IQ really is 100, so enjoy it
while you can.
Now, a little friendly competition can help you
improve yourself too...you never know what you don't
know until you poke your head out into the world and
find out how many people are there to play "bop the
gopher".
So, the bottom line is: Yes, this is a cosmically
significant development...however, once you accept
that you're no longer a supreme being, lesser deity or
even a demi-god, you can start to ask yourself, "Self,
what's really important & where do I want to spend my
resources?"
...or you can take the scoundrel's way out and
SPECIALIZE!
Cheers,
Chris
What makes it all the more maddening is that it's true. True dat. Verily be it so. Nay, in truth.
