Since I have 8:00 piano in the morning and I have had three hours of sleep in the last two nights, I will keep my HSC reflections brief.
We went to Griff's tonight for Sally's birthday and there was a huge crowd of us, so we kind of drew a crod after singing her happy birthday. I got tired of the irritatingly pretentious pseudo-musically-educated ego-inflation, so I climbed on the wall to the side of the building for awhile, till Ian started taking pictures of me. I have no doubt they'll be up on the chorus site.
It wasn't a total loss, though. Bill and Salad were there to make fools of themselves trying to impress the two new 27-year-old alto 2s. I keep forgetting that grownups are not automatically mature... I don't even mean with the bathroom jokes and the obsession with sex, but even the social awkwardness and the non sequiturs that Salad consistently inserts into conversations really contrast with the utterly profound philosophical discussions he'll engage you in when he's really plastered. It was particularly interesting to watch him interacting with girls from the perspective of someone who just met him. He's so transparent, but not in the way he's trying to be. I respect him for leaving himself open enough to be a fool. I don't know why.
