Amusing things which came up yesterday:
You know you're at Rice when you attempt to dig your face into your Coke at lunch because you can't relate Plato's Meno's Paradox to Herman Hesse's Glass Bead Game with yourself as a frame of reference.
Utterly exhausted. Intellectually and emotionally and physically and musically.
Beowulf: Lecture (Which was terrible; I recommend skipping it), Performance (spectacular, but 1:25:30), Short Reactions, and aQuestion and Answer session with the performer.
Then. Three-hour philosophical conversation with Stephan on mostly Herman Hesse and his Glass Bead Game.
