Martha, the friendly suitemate who lives in the other room, just came in and gave me a pair of... I don't know what they are. They're foot-jewelry. Like the thong on a pair of flip-flops, but without the sole. They're made of black beads, a small fringe, and a series of elastic loops. I love them and will shortly imitate/improve upon them with chainmail.
