For once, I remembered. I and my family (except they weren't really my family) had come to this one Arthurian-style farm, and my sister was to marry this man who came later, except that later in the dream I was my sister. I don't remember what malignance we had to guard against, but it was human, and I was the only one who knew how to lead the cows. We started talking outside, but the man grew too dangerous, and so I figured out which seven cows were our original cows and that the rest of them were a bride-price, and ours were colored and the rest were black and white. Ours were docile and well-trained; I could take the leader by one horn and the rest would follow her, and so I brought them all inside, against the protests of the bad man (who was disguised as good). As long as we were with our own cows, it was all right. I spent the night on the floor sleeping with the two smartest cows, who, at the first sign of danger, would pile themselves on me in defense (apparently I could handle this just fine). I had to keep the fire going, and the poker resembled a D&D weapon of some sort; I had to let parts of myself out from underneath the cows to push logs into the fire, and the man was watching me from a chair by the window. It was a one-room house, and my hands shook that I could see him so close, because he was terribly dangerous; we could all forget where we really came from and that this was our farm, and I would lose my rapport with the cows, if he were allowed to do what he could to us. I built the fire as David taught me in another life, and retreated back under the helpful cows, and my alarm woke me up and I took a long time to remember who I was.
