The dream revelation kind of cast a pall on my evening (it's hard not to be depressed by something that disturbing), but it was mostly ameliorated by mama's analysis.

I am sorry to have missed the Crumb, but my free tickets to the dress rehearsal of the Spanish-language Carribean opera Salsipuedes served me well. See it if you have the chance. I could go into an analysis of the compositional style and the effect the various plot lines had on my emotion, but you'd be bored and it's hard to understand that kind of thing without experiencing it, anyway. It's a very cute, mostly upbeat opera, nearly Abduction-from-Seraglio-level silliness in the first act. The one thing I will record for memory is the double-role of the General/Colette was played brilliantly by a fairly big name my mom recognized from Boston. He looks equally good in a military outfit or a skintight glittering green sequined dress and red sequined heels.
