The movement as it is is now full on the computer. It needs some help in the transitions (I fear Aliah is the only example I have of a good transition so far), but it is mostly done. I'll make parts out and possibly get them to you all by Friday. That is how far I've gotten. Yay.

Linguistics is unbelievable. I get to record a conversation, and transcribe three minutes of it, identifying all the overlaps and backchannels and select examples of illocution and perlocution YAY!

Note the complete absence of sarcasm. I am a dork, yes.

Yesterday Dr. Farwell gave me about six new songs to copy and learn (two copies, one for my accompanist! I have an accompanist! Her name is Theo), including various Mozart and Handel stuff, and one Isadore Freed and one Elgar (SO COOL) and I get to learn one and practice with the accompanist before next Tuesday YAY!

No sarcasm here, either. Music nerdship overrules a lot of things.

Meanwhile, I get to eat a lot of popsicles and regular meals, and Chorale and Shepherd Singers.. oh yeah, Shepherd Singers. The balance is very unusual; there are three sopranos, four mezzos (I get to be one), four tenors and three basses. There are no freshmen basses. Four tenors and four sopranos (except Dr. Farwell is sort of pointing me in a mezzo direction, not to the exclusion of anything else, but in a very cool nonwhiny nonthin nonscreechy soprano stereotype way).

Tonight I have to skip my cool Heroes class because the dumb Christmas cd recording is at the exact same time. But I turned in all my papers. Go me.

Let the world appreciate the wonder of cd burners. And also Rachmaninov.

Mm.

The only expirience I have had with linguistics was watching, My Fair Lady, but it sounds like fun.
Most people worth knowing are music geeks. Not all. But most.

I must give you your early birthday present. It is strange but cool. If I don't stop by for long I'll try to leave it with someone. ~Nia
