Dayyydreammm of good people in my dorm talking and generally having... not "fun," per se, which tends to me to imply a quota of silliness, but an intensely enjoyable time. I want them back.

I am being so unproductive it's not even vaguely amusing. Except to me. Because I have no class right now, and that is strange.

Huma 101 will be fun-ish, because it is good literature, and the professor is friendly, even if getting the class to discuss anything is like pulling teeth. We started with the first four books of the Iliad, but unfortunately my copy (don't worry, I have another one now) was missing pages 51-114, so I didn't get the first book or the first half of the second read. It's all right, I've read them before, if not in this edition.

First linguistics class since palcing out of ear training was after that. It is going to be very fun. Ee.

AGH all you music people must come to my theory class! Dr. Lavenda is so cool! It's like comprehensible, nonjudgemental Avalon. He treats the class like people, be they dumb or commonsensical, and people are. Last time he played us a tambourine piece, this time it was Chopin prelude 20, and they illustrate his points so... that's not the way to say it. They make such worthwhile points and he asks the class questions in ways that will lead us come to the conclusion of the points ourselves, which is much more effective a way to teach than lecturing.

Yeah. And I actually had lunch today. And then Latin. Which, in the style of this prof's teaching, would be extremely difficult if I had not already had Latin. So I didn't read the first chapter because I went to sleep, but I was all right because I already know what the forms are, and it's not that her explanations are obtuse, it's that they're so succinct you have to listen really carefully because they don't last long, and you feel dumb if you ask her to explain because when she does you realize how obvious the first one was. Luckily, I don't have to listen very hard yet. I will get practice before I do.

Next is Chorale, at which for the first time in twelve years we are getting our pictures taken while we rehearse, so I have imported a black concert dress from home and will blend in nicely for photographical attire. After that is the one-night-a-week class, which had better be cool, because it's three hours long, from 7 to 10 in the evening, and I really don't want to fall asleep. And at some point when the dean gets back I will have an 8:00 class on the day after it. But it should be fun. The study of sidekicks over known history.

At some point I am going to have to actually register for the linguistics class, but that requires talking to the VPSA office for permission to tak emore than 20 hours, and it's taking them awhile to get back to me about an appointment. Meanwhile, I go to class anyway and I have the book because my advisor's roommate sold me an old one for 10 bucks (it's a $75 book... XD ).

I wish I remembered what I was doing the days when this place was not just a daily or every-other-daily update on my life. I used to think in here, and write cool essays... Urgh.
