She wasn't doing wonderfully when we washed all the puppies yesterday, all bony and weak and not moving around much, so mama tried to feed her with no other-puppy interference. When she woke up this morning at 7, the tiniest puppy was having a really hard (and loud) time breathing. She decided to take her to the vet. The vet opens at 8 on Saturdays. By the time all the lights were on and the table was out, the breaths were every 30 seconds or so, and they couldn't find a heartbeat without the EKG (40 beats per minute, it said). She died. That's three.
