Since there was a significant amount of time I'd be halfway downtown between church and Paul's rehearsal yesterday, I decided to schedule between-seasons meeting with the chamber choir director for 1pm. It was a little later than I would have hoped, since I met Laura coming out of the cathedral from singing the service, but we hung out till it was my turn, and then rushed to my house to pick up Paul music (and disco Kroger to pick up food).
Paul's rehearsal yesterday was the last till August; it was also a potluck/margarita party, so it was happily chill and full of amazing food. I haven't been at a musician-party in years, and I missed them. Also, we ended up taking most of the food home. Including an entire pie, and entire cake, and an entire box of cookies which hadn't been touched. And A big hunk of the mind-blowing pecan brownies Dwight made. Wow. And some key lime pie. And some fajitas. Yeah.
So we hung out talking forever, and then took Laura home with us to watch Ruthless People, which she really wanted us to see: and lo, it is hilarious. Also I ate some pie. It was a successful day.
I would have liked to sleep more, but we came in earlier than usual this morning so we could leave early so I could maybe get some recording done with Andrew and his guitar-playing brother before Dan and I leave for the thing downtown.
