Mama came to World Ensemble rehearsal this morning, which is gearing up for the concert next week, and it went pretty well. I spent all day starting my Courtesan paper, which has taken a small load off my mind because the 12-page draft is due on Saturday and I'll be in San Antonio celebrating Andy's wedding.
Mama also came to the supplemental a cappella ensemble rehearsal, which was tired and hot and not everyone was there but it went pretty well anyway. I can't wait to have recordings of those pieces. Laura's arrangement of Afro Blue is to die for.
Now, there's a meeting for the CI department concert that was scheduled to start at 10 back in the day, but they moved it up to 9, but I don't know what the deal is going to be. Maybe I'll go now. Even though I'm not even presenting tonight because my piece is already well-rehearsed and needs no further input. But I'm in some other people's pieces (an arctic folk tune and the national anthem of Aibmoloc, the backwards-speaking land). I don't really want to be there, but neither does anyone else who's going, and I like all of them. It'll be okay.
