I seem to be the only copyeditor left on the Thresher staff, since Elaine and Carl both graduated. This means I am the only one left doing actual copyediting; I don't even know who the proofers are, since I've met very few of them very few times, and I am terrible at names and faces. So, I keep going back to the office. Not that I mind, since I actually like copyediting, and I have nothing else to do, but I will soon.

Now, I proclaim to the world: the State Health Code that restaurants tell you you're violating by going barefoot has nothing to do with shoes. See: Texas says so. And so do 39 other states. The city can make interfering laws about what you can and can't wear, but most likely they have not.

Rehearsal last night was another reminder of why I dislike B9. It's so... here's a tune and here're some words and they have nothing to do with each other but let's see if we can do both at the same time as fast as possible as many times in a row as we can. Plus, pointless screeching on top of the staff. It would have been just as effective, probably more so for the basses, down a second or even a third.

However, the Adams On the Transmigration of Souls is going to be amazing. The words are already getting to me, and nobody's getting the rhythm or pitch right. It's not that hard if you're used to extrapolating your pitch by intervals from other things that are going on, but if you need it fed tonally to you, you're out of luck. I think we're going to have to beat it into the majority of the chorus by rote and repetition, which is the kind of rehearsal I hate to sit through. Still, it's going to be very moving when it's working properly.

School is going to start soon. I have three Ling classes! I bet they all have lots of work. Ee. I hope I get in the show anyway. It's time for me to stop being lazy.

Okay, well, this is one of the most awesome perspectives on life I've ever read:
