Busy laying about, reading, blowing my nose and eating rice. There's this huge bag of Indian rice that Andy bought, thinking it was brown, and I've basically eaten buttered rice with cinnamon and raisins for the last couple days like it's oatmeal. It's definitely not good for me, I can tell, but it's just so easy. It's too much effort to pay enough attention to something other than the computer to make a hamburger or an egg like I ought to. My borderline hypoglycemic/hypothyroid systems are protesting with further lethargy and some interesting visual phenomena, but I don't want to go out to eat, and that's my other option. Blergh.

At least I found my Sibelius cd in my closet and reinstalled it. I've been working lackadaisically on a six-part a capella transcription of a stupendously beautiful Piazzolla string quartet called Chiquilin de Bachin. It's kind of intimidating.

Mama's willing to let us use the van if she comes too. She has friends in LA, so we wouldn't necessarily be with her much once we're there, she'd be another person to share the driving, and she knows what's on the way to see and she's better at parking than any of us. Carlsbad Caverns are an option I hadn't thought to consider.
