The concerts are on July 1st and 2nd at Jones Hall downtown, and we can bring you, Nia, from our house, I'm sure. Tickets will be sold out soon.
Rehearsal was tremendously improved. The orchestra sure adds a lot... :)
It's a very orchestral piece, and now no one has any excuse to make fun of the conductor for swoopiness or anything, because he is very clear. Though apparently people have a hard time anticipating whether he will be in 4 or 2, and that throws counting to the winds, and you have to count in a piece in which you are treated as another instrument (lots and lots of measures of rest).
Going out was fairly tame, just mama and I and Corita and Susan and Ian and Salad. Mostly we talked about Susan and her experiences as chorus manager. Twas interesting.
I can't believe they think I signed up for today (yesterday)! I don't want to have a no-show... I thought it was tomorrow (today)! I hope there's one today too, despite the fact that there probably isn't because the redcarded people were limited to one drive per week...
