That. Was. So. Fun.

Recital Babble )

Best fun I have ever had and most loved I have ever felt in a really long time. I hope Ally and Ev had a fun performance, and will come over someday when I get the recording and invite all the people who missed it (like BILL CRAZY PERSON WHERE WERE YOU YOU PROMISED YESTERDAY AND THE DAY BEFORE THAT YOU'D COME, and Salad, who was in Europe, and Lisa, who was supervising TAKS tests for fourth-graders) and I will also get to see it and life will be good.

Yes. It was not bad. It could have been a lot worse. And now Wes is coming around 5 and we're gong to Reggie's to help him make his sink-harp. I'll bring the hubcap. And tomorrow, if he's not dead (he couldn't come to the reception cause he had a fever and was about to collapse) Bryce is coming to do our calculus project. I'd dread it, cause it's calculus, but I don't, cause it's Bryce. Not too much of a morning-after-performance letdown, today. I have other things to look forward to. Maybe Reggie's house has nailpolish remover.

In all the excitement, I forgot. A little notice arrived in my email this morning:

I can survive without comments now, due to the tremendous ego boost of yesterday, but they'd still be appreciated on the new pieces.

Soooo fun. So fun. Our sinktar (it's too much like a cello to be a harp, and it has guitar strings) is beautimous. So much wire. I am so glad I brought the copper in my coconut. We used a lot of duct tape, and packing tape when we ran out of duct tape, and copper wire for reinforcement, so the sink now has two hubcaps on the front and a stove grate for a neck with guitar strings tied to it, and a stovetop round thingy for a scroll. It looks like a cello, and when I put the visegrips on to hold the hubcap down, it'll have an endpin... ee. It's cool. Though I have a bloodblister on my thumb from doing stupid things with the pliers. I need to tighten wire before I put them on the neck... Ow. But hey, I got a lot of stuff done, and life was good, and it was fun. Wes had fun, too, though sinktar construction was probably not what he had in mind when he called to hang out. He got a lot of Lebanese food out of the bargain... they went and got a lot of food, and now we are all stuffed, and we have made a sinkharp for the recyclefest. Soo cool. I like it.
