is a side effect of the best concerts, both to perform and to hear.

Orchestra did Tchaikovsky's R&J, which is a kicker by itself, but after intermission was freakin' B5! Is it Beethoven season, or what? I sat with Wes on the second half, and we rhapsodized together for awhile...

I miss playing. Reggie's parents kindly volunteered to take me home, so I hung out with him and the rest of our opera crowd and some quasi-groupies... Parker is quite the headbanger, on those accents in the fourth movement of the Fifth. Heh. Looks like Jimmy Page, almost. I'm so glad they still count me in the orchestra. We can exclaim together over Dr Evans's clear expressive capacity for joy and intensity... he's still 12 in his heart. I love that conductor. That got us talking about the various muddlebeated ones we've played (or sung) for, and that's a very amusing subject.

On the way home, Reggie's dad was amiably talkative, and it was nice to have something to say; I'm informed enough about music now to have opinions. Fun ride. You should all meet Reggie when you come to my opera (late May, if we pull it off).
